Here are our favourite foods, cafés, and restaurants from 2017, in random order:

  1. Mt Cook Alpine Salmon, Lake Pukaki – best, freshest sashimi ever!
  2. Little & Friday, Belmont – best coffee and sandwiches!
  3. Masu, Sky City – best Japanese buffet. (Thanks to H & D for the treat!)
  4. The Store, Kohimarama – best donut ever. No regrets.
  5. Black Cottage Café, Coatesville – still my favourite café!
  6. Huhu Cafe, Waitomo – I just know that everything tastes good here, and it makes visiting Waitomo worth it!
  7. Together, Rothesay Bay – Snickers cake, and just about everything in their cabinet (not that we’ve tried everything)
  8. Woodpecker Hill, Parnell – still the best lamb curry we’ve tried!
  9. Pasta & Cuore, Mt Eden – the best panna cotta (or maybe we just haven’t tried other panna cottas?)
  10. Forty Thieves Salted Macadamia Butter – discovered this at The Factory Markets which is right beside our church!
  11. Hakka Hut, Rosedale – best dumplings!
  12. Takara, Browns Bay – best agedashi and of course, best ramen!
  13. Eden Noodles, Albany – best Chinese noodles!
